Sheep Friends

“You find out who your friends are
Somebody’s gonna drop everything
Run out and crank up their car
Hit the gas get their fast
Never stop to think ‘what’s in it for me?’ or ‘it’s way too far.’
They just show on up with their big old heart
You find out who you’re friends are” – Tracy Lawrence

We all remember this song from several years back. But I love when it is actually visible in real life. The photo below was taken while I was attempting to show one of our Southdown lambs in the Southdown Champion Ewe drive at the Wilson County & TN State Fair Sheep show. They didn’t know I was balancing my phone and holding a sheep (don’t try this, 0/10 would not recommend πŸ˜‚ ) trying to snap a picture of them.

These two guys talk almost daily, both drive Dodge trucks, raise Southdowns, and manage to do all they can for their families (and I mean everything!). Between the two of them they cover plumbing jobs, electrical outages, crazy storms, water heater disasters, raise kids (pretty awesome ones I might add), attend softball games and practices, take care of family members, and support their wives in everything they do. They are awesome dads, husbands, and friends who will literally run out and crank up the truck if a friend is in need. As we get ready to attend another sheep show this weekend with late nights, early mornings, Pal’s, family, and lots of sheep showing I felt like they needed to be recognized and thanked!

Thank you both for all you do! Your families love you and appreciate you! It goes without saying that I know I speak for all of us when I say that πŸ’•

Now let’s go show some sheep!

Thank you everyone for reading! – Jessy

PS: The man on the chair in the background (Mr. Ben Powell) played a huge role in my husband’s family getting started in the 4-H Sheep Project πŸ’• Special photo for sure!
